Youth/Young Adult Pastor
Reverend Amanda Dannielle Harper is a proud Texan transplant born and raised in Dallas, TX. She graduated from Texas State University with a BA in Communication Studies. During her time at Texas State, she found her voice and passion for black feminism, community engagement, and service. Before moving to Richmond, VA, she lived in Houston, TX for five years, where she served in an administrative and Ministerial role at The Church Without Walls; exploring her call to ministry, by working with the youth, young adult, and women’s ministries. While at The Church Without Walls she felt God calling her to preach and in Fall 2018, she started her seminary journey at the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology. While there she served as the Vice President and eventual President of the STVU Theologue. Rev. Harper graduated from STVU with a Master of Divinity in May 2021 with an emphasis in Womanist Theology, Hebrew, and Old Testament studies. She was awarded the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Leadership and Preaching award; an award given to seniors who show potential for excellence in both preaching and leadership in and outside of the black church. She served as an associate minister at Second Baptist Church in Richmond, Va, where she was licensed and ordained, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. James Henry Harris. In early 2024, she was called to serve as the Associate Pastor to Youth and Young Adults at First Shiloh Baptist Church under Pastor Proctor N. Beard’s leadership in Mechanicsville, VA.
